Amazon finances S3 User

This is a cool modell to setup a portfolio. Smart Move! Amazon is doing a good job again!

Animoto one of the second wave widget start-ups in us got financing by amazon. They are S3 users as well. This an other modell to setup tech portfolios and technical due dilligence will be delivered by the investors ;-)

This is an other major new way within the investor space, after bay partner´s facebook only fund about 100$mil and KPBC 100$mil for iPhone Widgets this year.

Would love to know the size of the "S3 Fund"!

German YouTube Clone Acquired by ProSiebenSat1 Media

Germany’s biggest television broadcaster, ProSiebenSat1 Media, has bought a 70% stake in German video-sharing network MyVideo.de for $26 million.

my-Hammer / blauarbeit.de

Had a long chat yesterday evening with the founders of blauarbeit.de, Ramin and John. I know Ramin since the beginning of my first company and i am impressed about his execution in blauarbeit.de. They try to sort out what the implications of my-Hammer takeover from the recent day means for their market. My-Hammer is the market leader in the reverse auction workman market, followed by blauarbeit. I was impressed about their figures and the momentum blauarbeit generated. This space is far more interesting as I expected, because the value of the moved orders over the auctions is huge and the Software engine will allow quick market entries in other verticals than the workman´s space. The Challenge for blauarbeit will be to make the right transaction moves now. But the Story is definitely hot, specially because blauarbeit is one of the limited non copycats within the German web 2.0 market (here a good articel from Gregor Hochmut about that).

CBS Acquires Last.fm for $280 Million

This is a good Story and a good move!

Last.fm has deals with record labels like EMI, Warner and The Orchard, and it would surely have made a good buy for a record company or any big media player. Last.fm is also looking much healthier than competitor Pandora, which is being pummeled on all sides by licensing issues - with a dedicated fan base, it may pull through.
