Youtube just launched first server side editing functions. The remixing tool is the beginning of the google´s / youtube´s strategy to move traffic from client apps to server side apps. This is another major reason why
google bought youtube. Generating traffic over widgets to critical mass and moving them to server side apps, smart strategy and briliant exectuion, the youtube people are really good ;-) And smart move of google´s BD people as well for noticing the strategy and using it :-)
It will be interesting how the European copycats will answer to this news.

YouTube has launched its Remixer
tool, which is available on TestTube. Check it out here.
The remixer lets you add effects and graphics, text and audio, overlays and
transitions to your YouTube videos, directly in your browser. The remix tool is
powered by Adobe. It’s the same as Photobucket’s Remix tool, which
is also powered by Adobe. So if you’ve become a pro with the Photobucket
remixing tool, you’ll have no trouble with YouTube’s.
