Amazon finances S3 User

This is a cool modell to setup a portfolio. Smart Move! Amazon is doing a good job again!

Animoto one of the second wave widget start-ups in us got financing by amazon. They are S3 users as well. This an other modell to setup tech portfolios and technical due dilligence will be delivered by the investors ;-)

This is an other major new way within the investor space, after bay partner´s facebook only fund about 100$mil and KPBC 100$mil for iPhone Widgets this year.

Would love to know the size of the "S3 Fund"!

Good post by hitwise. In my view the hitwise people are the most experienced research team in the social network and widget market. They covered youtube at a very early stage and still seem to be ahead.

123Flickr is the second flickr based Photo slideshow tool within the last view days. As the third party service you can the the power of flickr API. Don´t get the idea what 123Flickr plans to do, but will follow them and let you know. The space is embedded widgets on Content based communities.

Made in 3 seconds! I had a Flickr account.

Till now embedded widget companies (like youtube, rockyou) mainly used contact based communities (like myspace, facebook) to enter the market. 123Flickr and slideflickr are the first one I got coming the other direction. Hmm

Server side Video editing

Youtube just launched first server side editing functions. The remixing tool is the beginning of the google´s / youtube´s strategy to move traffic from client apps to server side apps. This is another major reason why google bought youtube. Generating traffic over widgets to critical mass and moving them to server side apps, smart strategy and briliant exectuion, the youtube people are really good ;-) And smart move of google´s BD people as well for noticing the strategy and using it :-)

It will be interesting how the European copycats will answer to this news.

YouTube has launched its Remixer tool, which is available on TestTube. Check it out here.

The remixer lets you add effects and graphics, text and audio, overlays and transitions to your YouTube videos, directly in your browser. The remix tool is powered by Adobe. It’s the same as Photobucket’s Remix tool, which is also powered by Adobe. So if you’ve become a pro with the Photobucket remixing tool, you’ll have no trouble with YouTube’s.

Digg Will Do Product and Services Reviews in 6-12 Months

We can be sure, digg is powerful and fast! Directory is about to be addressed from nearly all players direct or hidden. In my meetings I get involved nearly every day with ideas around directory 2.0.

Kevin Rose has announced that Digg will be expanding to cover product and service reviews.

Rose told the audience at The Next Web Conference Friday that Digg is currently working on a “big project” that will deliver significant enhancements to Digg in the next 6 to 12 months. The new Digg will allow users to Digg anything including services, products and images.
